We can all get a little consumed by the current trending food fad and diet, but is it good for you?
Are you eating with a positive attitude?
‘I should eat this’. ‘I must eat that’. ‘It’s meant to be good for me’!
But have you considered if your body even wants what is on offer! Just because it’s ‘healthy’ doesn’t mean it’s right for you.
Body signals
Often we are so busy we forget to listen to what are body is telling us. Discomfort and pain are the body’s way of telling us that it is not happy with something. Often we will take a painkiller for a headache when getting away from your computer for 10 minutes would have done the trick or drinking a glass of water for that indigestion instead of reaching for the anti-acid would of helped.
It’s so important to create some time when eating, so you can fully appreciate all that your body is doing for you and the signals it is sending you.
Time Out
Are you eating with good intention? Making time to eat slowly, away from distractions and with a good attitude is vitally important for digestion. Digestion takes an enormous amount of energy so it’s important to give yourself time and to chew well.
We all grab and eat on the run, that’s fine when needs must, but generally making time for eating is a must.
So, take sometime to listen to what your body is saying. If you allow this time and space for eating you will increase your awareness and your body will thank you for it.
Eating with good intention is half the battle.
